Initial Orthodontist VisitWhat to Expect On Your First Visit

Please bring with you any type of ID that has a picture i.e. driver’s license, passport, residence card.  Also bring proof of current Medicaid insurance coverage.  These items are REQUIRED at the initial visit.  We have provided many forms that you will need to complete on our website.  Please print them out, complete them and bring them with you to your first visit.  If you cannot print them out, we will have copies available at the office.

Your child will be taken in for photos and x-rays.  The orthodontist will diagnose and evaluate your child for treatment.  To be 100% covered by Medicade insurance, the orthodontist must determine if the bite problem rates enough “points” to be eligible for submission to Medicaid.

If the orthodontist determines that your child will qualify, we submit the case to Medicaid and it takes approximately 2-3 weeks to get an approval.  We will contact you when we get the approval and schedule a treatment plan and appointment schedule for your child.

Sometimes depending on each individual’s case, the orthodontist may need to re-evaluate at 6 month intervals for the patients best interest.
